  Purpose:
 
(1)
To promote enquiry learning.
  Being the vital teaching strategy adopted by YLLSS, enquiry learning is a key element in effective teaching.
 
(2)
To stimulate students’ interest in learning science.
  It is based on government’s initiative to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

(a) In view of science, what factors would affect the motion of an object?
    Understand the relationship between force and motion
    Apply the principles of science and engineering for building models of cars, planes and air balloon
  (b) In view of technology, how does a remote control work?
    Wi-Fi connection and Digital Communication

Activities:
    (a) Hands-on experience of controlling the drone(航拍機)
    (b) Building planes for test flight and landing competition
    (c) Applying Newton’s third law on building air balloons and competing on speed
  (d) Building model cars and having model car racing

Congratulations to the winners in the aerial shooting competition! Primary Five students, parents and teachers from 8 primary schools were greeted with the kick-off of “Decoding Aerial Shooting 2016” programme which aims at fostering science and technology development in young children. The activity has gained a huge success with students getting fully immersed in the lesson to learn about related theories, experience the flying of a drone on their own and 3D printing. The activity has undoubtedly spoken for itself with all the laughter and cheers echoing across the hall.

Congratulations to the winners in the aerial shooting competition! After the first trial of operating a drone on Day 1, participants were fully immersed in the flying experience this week. With four rounds in total, each participant was required to finish five tasks (flying up, down, right, left, passing through a hula hoop and taking a picture of the whole group). Stay tuned with us for the prize presentation ceremony in November!

Ready to fly high! With an aim to enrich students’ learning experience, the school has arranged aerial shooting classes for S.1 students to get the first taste of piloting, photo-taking or video-shooting at a time. The activity has undoubtedly spoken for itself with all the laughter and cheers echoing across the basketball court.
