Geography Fieldtrip

To enhance students’ understanding of marine conservation and Geopark in Hong Kong, Mr. Li and Miss Tang from the Geography Department organized a fieldtrip of 50 Geography students in senior form to Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park and High Island Reservoir on 2 March 2015. In Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park, they knew how the government conserves marine parks in Hong Kong and they had to identify some coastal landforms such as beach, headland and sand spit at Sai Wan and granite along the beach. With the High Island Reservoir which is near the East Dam, hexagonal columns of volcanic rock are exposed. There are a lot of spectacular natural features such as rhyolitic tuff, dyke, stack (Po Pin Chau) and sea cave, etc. What an amazing, unforgettable and interesting trip!
