To promote Irish interests in Hong Kong, the Consulate General of Ireland held an activity named “Irish Cultural Showcase” on 30th January. The consulate invited student ambassadors from 54 local schools to share their presentations on Irish topics. The topics include the heritage sites, food and traditional music of Ireland. This is also a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain a better understanding of the wonderful culture and history of Ireland. The Showcase aims to equip students with strong verbal communication and research skills as well as to encourage their creativity, and to prepare them to become an Ireland Student Ambassador. On that day, two students of our school shared the traditional music of Ireland with more than 100 guests. The Ambassador Mr. O' Leary and the Consul General Peter Ryan also came to our booth and enjoyed the live violin performance played by our students. All of the guests have spent a wonderful time with the Ireland Student Ambassadors. |
