Our school has spared no effort to participate in social welfare and voluntary services. With the aim of helping students to understand the true meaning of “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” quoted from Mark 10:45 New International Version. The Extra-curricular Committee organized an activity named “Community Warm Caring Flash Mob Campaign” on February 9. In total, 16 students from S2E walked around in the estate to visit the elderly. They also prepared palmier, hot tea and red-banners written by our Principal as a way of bringing warmth and joy to the elderly.
Apart from this, students also chatted with them and enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere in that morning. This was a memorable experience for students to understand the needs of elderly and reinforce one of the key features – “Empathy” and “Gratefulness” “of being a Lutheranian. Such meaningful event can greatly remind students to care about people around them and thus to contribute to society in the future.
